luziapimpinella

Nic from luziapimpinella, must have the coolest job in the world, she is a textiles designer. She designs the most beautiful and amazing fabrics and ribbons. I have been a fan of her designs for a while and have several of her farbenmix ribbon designs. Recently, I was lucky enough to win a giveaway on her blog of a meter of her new fabric design LOVEchirp and 3 meters of matching ribbon!

I think this is the most stunning design, isn't she talented? I still have not decided what to make with it yet, as it is such beautiful fabric, I really want to make something special.

She also included several lengths of extra ribbon designs too. How sweet is that.

Thank you so much Nic.

The gifting gods have been very kind to me of late, so I think, to keep my karma in good order, I will be doing another blog giveaway soon, stay tuned.

In My Mail Box Today

Recently I entered a giveaway on Elizabeth's blog Toile and guess what?! I was the lucky winner of one of her prizes.  In the package was this amazing toile fabric (very appropriate!), a whole 1.5yards of it. Isn't it just delicious? I can't decide what I should make with it, I am thinking maybe some pillowcases that would take pride of place on the lounge couch.

Also included was this sweet little rabbit stamp and ink pad. I am thinking this will make a beautiful embellishment on little gift cards.

And also included to my surprise was this ceramic button. I have never seen anything quite like it before. As much as I love my little corner of paradise, here in New Zealand. It is when I see things like this, I am reminded how limited our selection of crafting supplies is.

Thank you so much Elizabeth for this lovely gift. If you have never visited Toile before, please pop over, she has a lovely blog.

A Day Away

I took the little ones on a fun little trip a few days ago to visit my parents at diamond harbor. It is about a 40 minute, winding car trip around the harbor or a very fun, 10 minute ferry ride. So guess which option we picked? Yep, the boat. Holly was literally shaking with excitement as she loves this little trip. For Isla it was her first boat ride. I am not sure if she liked it or hated it, she was very loud. I tend towards dislike but the ferry boat captain assured she was just having fun!

I also stumbled across the holy grail of vintage fabrics-

Unopened bed sheets! I have heard about them but have never had the luck to come across them before. Aren't they awesome? There are 2 flat single sheets so I am thinking about making them into 2 duvet covers for the bunk beds in Holly's room... if I can bring myself to open the packet.

SSSSShhhhhhh!!!!

Don't tell my husband..... I went fabric shopping today. Think he will notice the large pile of minkee? In my defense, getting minkee dots here is rarer than hens teeth so when one sees it, one feels inclined to buy a little (or alot!)

Stash Rehash

Today my sister and I went to our first stash rehash. What an experience! A mix of old, new, vintage and retro fabrics for as far as the eye could see. If you are a fabricaholic or a hoarder, this is not the place to go. But, if like me, you enjoy getting a few select bargains then you would love this place. I got all the above fabrics with the $60 I budgeted for myself. I was really pleased with my finds, especially the tan and black pattern one and the blue and pink retro pattern.

As I was about to leave, I stumbled across this little beauty, a kiwiana tablecloth. It is in pristine condition, I don't think it has ever been used. Not sure what I am going to make with it yet. Any Ideas?

My Miss Holly is developing a passion for all things lovely,  just like her Mamma! When I returned home, she eagerly searched through my acquired stash of fabrics, selecting her favorite and declaring, 'mine dress', before wrapping said fabric around herself and heading outside to play.
